Abstract: Very often new needs and the requirements of innovative applications act as powerful triggers for scientific advances. Today, the exponential diffusion of low cost computing devices and the concept of intelligence, coupled with the easiness of generating, collecting and storing data, urges the development of methods and tools for managing, retrieving and exploiting information, anywhere and anytime.
